Biography

Martin Mack is a world-renowned specialist in radiology and diagnostics. He started his medical career before he even entered medical school and received his education.

Martin Mack was born in the city of Munich. During his years of military service Martin was stationed in the high mountain parts of Berchtesgaden. Martin Mack was awarded a medal for his excellent service and mountain rescue operations in 1988. After completing his service, Martin Mack enrolled at the Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich to study medicine. During his studies, Martin Mack received the Howard Hughes Scholarship, which allowed him to attend Rockefeller University in New York. Martin Mack studied under the American biologist, Nobel Prize winner in Physiology and Medicine, Prof. Gunther Blobel.

After graduation, Martin Mack continued his studies at the Free University of Berlin. With such a significant experience, Martin Mack was offered an internship at the Virchow Clinic of the Faculty of Medicine at the Humboldt University, one of the most renowned universities in Germany. He trained in the Department of Radiology under the supervision of Prof. R. Felix.

During his internship, Martin Mack worked as a physician assistant. After completing his training in 1998, Martin Mack began working as a research fellow at the University Hospital of Frankfurt am Main in the diagnostic and interventional radiology department. His supervisor was Prof. Vogl, who had extensive experience in radiology. In 2000, Martin Mack joined the department of diagnostic radiology as a specialist physician. The theoretical and practical knowledge gained enabled Martin Mack to be appointed Managing Director of the Institute for Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at the Klinikum Frankfurt am Main at the beginning of his clinical work. Martin Mack is involved in the diagnosis of diseases of the head and neck as well as neuroradiology. Most of his time has been devoted to the diagnosis of oncologic diseases. In addition, he was engaged in conducting and perfecting computerized and magnetic resonance tomography. He also performed various procedures under the control of CT and MRI.

In 2002, Martin Mack collected and processed enough clinical and therapeutic material to write a doctoral thesis in the field of radiology. In addition, Martin Mack was awarded the title of «Privat Associate Professor» by the Academic Council. In order to manage the clinic more sensitively, Martin Mack was trained in business courses for physicians. In 2004, he completed his studies and obtained the degree of certified health economist.

In 2005, Martin Mack was elected as Secretary General of the European Society of Head and Neck Radiology. At the same time, Martin Mack became deputy director of the Institute of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at the Klinikum Frankfurt am Main. Within a few years, through hard work, Martin Mack became President of the European Society of Head and Neck Radiology. Prof. Martin Mack is a member of various medical societies that deal with radiology in different fields: the European and German Society of Radiology, the Society of Head and Neck Radiology, Musculoskeletal Radiology and others.

Today, Martin Mack is a partner of the diagnostic and interventional radiology community in the city of Munich.
