Biography

The professor was born in 1974 in Munich. His medical experience took place in many countries of Europe, USA. Dr. Franz G. Bader studied at the University of Leipzig and Hamburg, which are the best and oldest educational institutions in Germany and Europe. During his studies Dr. Franz G. Bader had an opportunity to undergo an internship in the leading universities of the USA: Washington State University, Seattle. After the internship, Franz G. Bader completed his studies at the Technical University of Munich.

In 2001, Dr. Franz G. Bader started his clinical work at the Clinic of General Surgery with the departments of Visceral, Thoracic and Vascular Surgery at the City Hospital Munich-Bogenhausen.

After 4 years of clinical work, Franz G. Bader joined the University Hospital of Schleswig-Holstein. His teacher was Prof. H.P. Bruch, M.D., who studied colorectal cancer as well as chronic inflammatory bowel diseases. Prof. Bader perfected the technique of performing surgeries using mini-invasive accesses. To gain additional foreign experience, Dr. Franz G. Bader completed an internship at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, where the centers for biome and cancer research are located. Franz G. Bader worked under the supervision of Gert Auer, who is Vice President of Medical Affairs at NeoDynamics AB. Prof. Auer is Professor in Molecular Pathology and Visiting Professor in Proteomics at the University of Tokyo. He is co-founder of NeoDynamics and is one of the founders of the global clinical network. He has extensive experience in cancer diagnostics and in the field of proteomics. In addition, Prof. Auer has served as a member of the Nobel Committee.

After working in Sweden, Dr. Bader returned to the University Hospital of Schleswig-Holstein. His accumulated scientific and clinical experience enabled him to pass the state examination in surgery in 2008 and to start working as a doctor in the department. Two years later, Prof. Franz G. Bader was appointed senior physician in the Department of Surgery at the University Hospital Rechts der Isar of the Technical University of Munich. In addition, he was appointed head of the Division of Colorectal Surgery for the next two years. During his work, Prof. Franz G. Bader analyzed clinical data and participated in various conferences. He used this experience in his work as coordinator of the Center for Intestinal Disease Research at the University Hospital.

In 2014, Prof. Bader was appointed as head of the Department of General Visceral Surgery at the Isar Clinic in Munich. His main areas of practice and research are both acute and chronic abdominal diseases. He is the developer of minimally invasive accesses for various diseases of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract.
