Biography

Matthias Haslbeck, MD, graduated from the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich in the 1990s. Afterwards, he received additional training at the Institute of Pathology at the Bogenhausen Clinic.

During his studies and work, Dr. Haslbeck was able to gain clinical and scientific experience in the treatment and diagnosis of almost all diseases of the nervous system. After two years, the knowledge gained helped Dr. Matthias Haslbeck to become a senior physician and then head of the Department of Neurology, specializing in diseases of the motor system.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Haslbeck has devoted a great deal of time to research. His main research areas are: peripheral nervous system disorders, muscle disorders, strokes, and pain management in neurological diseases.

Dr. Haslbeck has published numerous publications with his colleagues in high-level international journals. In 2008, Dr. Frank Erbel, M.D., Dr. Haslbeck’s predecessor, became head of the Neurology Clinic at Milbertshofener. Together with his wife Annette Kirchner, MD, PhD, Dr. Haslbeck established the Center for General Medicine at this clinic.

In addition to his basic knowledge of neurology, Dr. Haslbeck has special expertise in epileptology. In addition, Dr. Halsbeck has extensive experience with the use of botulinum toxin in neurological diseases (torticollis, eyelid cramps, migraine, spasticity).
