Cryolipolysis in Germany. Losing weight without surgery.
Over 3 million people around the world are overweight. WHO statistics warn that the number of obese people will only increase every year. Therefore, medical treatment in Germany, medical measures to get rid of fat deposits, both in cosmetology and surgery, are in great demand.
Removing excess fat without a scalpel is one of the most sought after procedures in the cosmetic industry.
Important! It’s safe and effective.
Cryolipolysis (fat dissolving with cold).
In the arsenal of specialists there are different methods of eliminating fat tissue: from classical surgical to new non-invasive methods. The most popular is cryolipolysis, in which the fatty tissue is cooled and aspirated into a special bowl.
A bit of history.
The effect of low temperature on fatty tissue was first known about 100 years ago, when a pediatrician from Austria described children after prolonged exposure to cold weather: they had red masses in the chin area, which went away on their own in two to three weeks without any complications. It was only in 2008 that the first studies of the effect of cold on human tissues were conducted, and a year later a cryolipolysis machine was tested.
How cryolipolysis works.
If the fat is subjected to cooling, it develops a local inflammatory reaction. When inflammation occurs, fat cells, adipocytes, are destroyed and eliminated from the body, resulting in a reduction in the thickness of the fat layer.
There are many hypotheses to explain fat cell death. Under conditions of low temperature, but higher than the freezing point of water (+5 — +10 C), inside adipocytes triglycerides and fatty acids form into crystals that cause immediate (necrosis) or delayed (apoptosis) cell death.
Necrosis is characterized by the destruction of cell walls and apoptosis by damage to the membranes of important structures, primarily mitochondria, which are responsible for ATP synthesis, heat and energy release.
Benefits.
The method differs favorably from others in that it triggers intracellular lipolysis and stimulates apoptosis. While with classical methods (injections, incisions), there is a direct destruction of adipocytes and the immediate release of large amounts of lipids and fats, which may be accompanied by a number of complications.
Also, the pros of the method include:
- absence of pain;
- minimal risk of side effects (redness, swelling);
- no damage to internal organs and skin structures (nerves, vessels, hair follicles);
- no prior preparation is required;
- can be combined with other procedures (massage, shockwave therapy), which significantly
- enhances the result;
- there is no risk of tissue death;
- removes fat and cellulite.
How does a cryolipolysis session happen?
During the session, an applicator in the form of a bowl and a gel pad soaked in propylene glycol are placed on the skin. Using a vacuum-apparatus aspirate fatty tissue into the bowl applicator. The size of the bowl is selected individually depending on the area, for example, for the arms you need a smaller diameter bowl, for the abdomen or back — a large bowl. The larger the bowl and the vacuum force, the more fat can be sucked into it.
Gel pads prevent direct contact of the cooling surfaces of the applicators with the skin and provide uniform heat dissipation, so that there is no hypothermia of the skin.
Session duration.
The cooling process is 1 hour in absolutely comfortable conditions. During the session, the patient can do personal activities (reading a book, listening to music, working on the computer), and at the end of the session, he/she can return to his/her usual life.
Number of procedures.
If you repeat the session after 30-45 days, it will significantly increase the effect of cryolipolysis. However, repeated sessions give less noticeable results compared to the first one. The most resistant area for cryolipolysis is the back area, where it is recommended to repeat the procedure up to 3 times, while the legs and abdomen are more amenable to the effects of cold.
When to expect visible results?
The first changes on the body can be noticed as early as 4-6-8 weeks after cryoliposuction. This time is necessary to start the process of fat cell death and elimination from the body. During this period, the thickness of the fat layer decreases from 2 to 4 cm.
How to increase the effect of cryolipolysis?
The success of the sessions is evaluated not only by the visible result, but also by the amount of aspirated adipose tissue, which is the difference in fat thickness before the procedure and two months after it. The longer the exposure of the tissue to cold, the more adipocytes die. The time and temperature regime are selected individually.
Cryolipolysis is most effective when combined with additional methods (massage, lymphatic drainage, food restrictions, sports).
- Massage.
Numerous observations confirm the effectiveness of massage after cryoliposuction. It is enough to alternate vigorous kneading with circular movements for two minutes.
- Shockwave therapy.
Modern equipment makes it possible to combine cryoliposuction with shockwave therapy. Low frequency sound waves provide a good lymphatic drainage effect, as well as stimulate the synthesis of collagen and elastin, which makes the skin tighter in areas where the risk of sagging and loose skin is most likely.
Indications for cryolipolysis.
The main conditions for cryolipolysis are the absence of skin diseases and the presence of a fat layer of at least 1-2 cm. The effect of cryolipolysis on different parts of the body differs from person to person. This is due to both anatomical (blood supply, cell structure, metabolism of fat depots) and individual characteristics.
You can perform cryolipolysis in the abdomen, thighs and buttocks, knees, back of the shoulders, in men in the chest area.
Important! areas where cryolipolysis is strictly contraindicated are: face, neck and décolletage.
Contraindications.
It is necessary to consult a doctor before the procedure, as cryolipolysis is not indicated for some conditions:
- 1st and 2nd degree obesity.
- Cold allergy.
- Pregnancy, lactation period.
- The presence of a hernia in the treated area.
- Skin diseases (eczema, dermatitis).
- The presence of scars, sutures.
- Thrombosis.
- Diabetes mellitus.
- Injuries and infections of the skin.
- Wearing a pacemaker.
- Renal or hepatic failure.
- Hemorrhages on the skin.
- Disturbed skin sensitivity.
Possible side effects.
The results of numerous experiments have shown that during cryolipolysis low temperatures do not damage important structures of the skin (epidermis): hair, sweat and sebaceous glands, muscles, blood vessels, nerves.
After the procedure may be redness, swelling, hematomas, which independently pass in a couple of hours.
Do I need rehabilitation after cryolipolysis?
The restrictions are minimal. No rehabilitation is required. After the session, you can safely return to the usual rhythm of life. Sports, driving is not contraindicated. The only limitation concerns the visit to the sauna during the first week.
